What is Prelude? 

Prelude is Encore's professional networking weekend for ensemble directors. Taking place in historic and musically-rich cities such as Vienna and Prague, ensemble leaders and one guest travel round trip for free, stay in luxury hotels, and take in all the city has to offer over Martin Luther King Jr. weekend. 

Not only is Prelude an exciting getaway, it is also a professionally enriching experience. Prelude is centered around exploration of personal and professional development, offering unlimited opportunities for networking with fellow music directors and leaders, as well as cultural experiences, artistic development, and a whole lot of fun!

 

 

How does one qualify for Prelude?

To take part in Prelude 2018, ensemble leaders planning a group trip with Encore must have a certain number of passengers register by the deadlines below: 

Register for an overseas tour by: April 1st, 2017 July 1st, 2017 October 15th, 2017
No. of paying passengers: 20 30 40

Kate first discovered the power of intercultural communication and exchange through music on a month-long trip to China and Japan with her college wind ensemble. She's been hooked on traveling ever since and has performed with different groups in cities such Beijing, London, and Kyoto to name a few! Kate is a clarinet player and a passionate arts advocate with degrees in music, arts administration, and cultural policy. Her favorite symphony is Beethoven's 'Eroica', Symphony No. 3 because it makers her feel energized and like anything is possible! Kate is the Marketing Coordinator and Program Manager at Encore Tours.
